About Me!
Welcome to my page, and thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
I'm Jennifer Chizoba Metume-Ibe, an aspiring UX/UI and Product Designer currently based in North Carolina. I am also an artist with my speciality being digital art! As an upcoming senior majoring in Computer Science at the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University, I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities to learn and grow.
Growing up, I have always been captivated by the beauty of art, especially drawing. I fondly remember watching the older kids in the room sketch beautiful designs and trying to replicate their techniques. Over time, I honed my skills by watching quick drawing tutorials on YouTube and practicing my craft.
Though I was initially unsure of what I wanted to do professionally, my passion for artistic expression led me to UX/UI Design. I was introduced to this field in September 2022 by a friend who encouraged me to participate in BVCC’s UX Design Curriculum Program to learn more about it. During my lessons on design thinking, I knew that I had found my calling. I realized that I could use my creativity to make an impact on others in a meaningful way.
Since then, I have participated in three hackathons, two of which were hosted by my institution, and one by Google. I'm proud to say that my team and I won all three competitions, taking first place for both hackathons hosted by my university, and Best In Design for the Google hackathon! These experiences have given me the confidence to pursue my passion and make a positive impact through my innovative ideas.
When I'm not designing, I love to create digital art, sing, watch anime and tv shows, and browse through social platforms. I also like to dance and make time to learn a new language as I’m always striving to learn something new.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Please feel free to explore my page and check out my work and resume!
